Customer Guide
Here's how to get service and manage your account.
How Jobs Flow Through Tradesman
From a booking
From a request
Request vs. Booking
Both end with a scheduled job — the difference is who starts it.
Service Request
You start this. Open the app or your customer portal, describe the problem, and send it to the business. They may reply with questions, an estimate, or schedule it directly. Use this when you're reaching out for the first time or want a written record of what you need.
Booking
The business starts this for you — usually after you call, text, or talk in person. It skips the request step and goes straight to a scheduled job on your calendar. You'll get a notification when it's booked, and an invoice after the work is done.
Getting Service
Submit a service request
Describe what you need — like a leaky faucet or clogged drain. Add photos if you have them.
Get an estimate
The business will review your request and may send you an estimate with pricing.
Approve the estimate
Review the line items and total. Accept it to move forward, or decline if it's not right.
Your job gets scheduled
Once approved, a technician will be assigned and you'll see the scheduled date.
Pay your invoice
After the work is done, you'll receive an invoice. Pay online with a card or the business may accept other methods.
Messages
You can chat directly with the business about your service request. Messages show up on each request so everyone stays on the same page. You'll be notified by email when you get a reply.
Paying Online
When you receive an invoice, it includes a Pay Online button. Click it to pay securely with your credit or debit card. Once payment goes through, you'll get a confirmation email.
Some businesses also accept cash or check — your invoice will show what's available.
